Darick Ritter was born in 1981, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Beginning his path towards art as a career started early when he depicted fantasies on paper as a child, leading towards a B.F.A. in painting from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2005. But upon graduation, he turned away from painting to make some comics and small animations in his spare time, while working a regular job. In late 2009, he rededicated himself to making art and began building a body of work centered around drawing his fantasies once again. That work has slowly developed into a biological dreamland populating the walls of his studio and home. In 2010, he began exhibiting that artwork and has shown his paintings in Atlanta, Tuscaloosa, and Los Angeles.

Currently, he is working on a new series of conceptual comix.

He lives and works out of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
